The Study: Successes of the KUBCO Spinal Orthosis in Clinical Application

Since 2004, patients treated with a dynamic Kubin Orthosis (KUBCO Orthosis) at the Asklepios Burgseekliniken Bad Salzungen, and since 2010 also at the Asklepios Katharina-Schroth-Klinik Bad Sobernheim, have been surveyed. The results of the survey were summarized in a scientific study.

Study Design and Patient Group

 Participants

A total of 598 surveyed patients, 89% female and 11% male

Average Age

Patients between 28 and 78 years old, with an average age of 57 years

Response Rate

438 completed and usable questionnaires, almost three-quarters of all participants

Study Objectives

The study included patients with chronic pain in the lower thoracic spine (T-spine) and lumbar spine (L-spine). Diagnoses included scoliosis, osteochondrosis, herniated discs, rotational slip, lumbago, and lumbar radiculopathy.

The study aimed to assess the wearing time, comfort, and impact of the KUBCO Spinal Orthosis on pain, medication requirements, quality of life, and patient performance.
